I write using Markdown, similar to how one would in Ulysses. Never had any problems with either of them and Scrivener.īy the way I use Scrivener as a plain-text tool, by and large. I also use SpiderOak as a one-way encrypted backup service. Myself, I use Resilio Sync, which doesn't store data on third-party equipment, just syncs directly between my machines. To my knowledge the only service we've seen repeated negative reports for is Google Drive. ![]() There are certainly some services you should avoid, and there are settings you should be aware with using some (those that "optimize" your drive by deleting local files are particularly bad for any program that stores your work into lots of files). ![]() I am not sure where you heard Scrivener only works with one sync service, but that isn't true (I guess unless you mean the iOS version, where we have to write to individual APIs to do stuff, and not many services allow large-scale high load syncing like Dropbox does-Apple's iCloud for instance doesn't support their very own Mac package format and we'd practically have to reinvent the cloud to use their system).
